i'm trying this again - i'm leaving isaiah for another discussion. maybe when we all have more time.
jacob teaches us about the diffuculties that will befall the Jewish nation.
those who are not for God are against him. you can't just sit in the middle. he asks you to choose your loyality.
(how can you lose your stuff you write when it doesn't publish the first time - where does it go??? does it sit somewhere or get erased???)
Nephi finishes Jacobs writings by sharing with us that like Isaiah, he and Jacob have seen their Redeemer. Nephi has such a strong testimony of the Savior that he decides to send Isaiah's and Jacobs words among his own people so that they can feel the strength of two other prophets testifying of the Savior. His happiness comes from testifying of the coming of Christ, in knowing when we keep the commandments we will be blessed, in teaching his children that through Christs atonement ie, grace, justice, power and mercy we can all be delivered from death and that is only by and through Jesus Christ that each one of us can be saved.
so - he says, lift up your heart and rejoice...walk in the light of the Lord.
it is through the gospel that we find happiness and eternal life.
