jacob has just been appointed the leader of the nephites by nephi. his concerns now expand and i think he feels the stewardship of his new calling. his emphasis in these chapters is to husbands; their responsibilities to their wives and families. again he wants them to know that they must love and respect their wives and families. i look at myself and think where can i as a wife and a mother improve? am i doing all that i can? i don't know how difficult it was for the plates to be engraven upon. but, to me, in my day of computers and easy typing, i think i would not have been a good journal keeper - way too much work - . but thankfully, jacob and many others did write for us and i am so thankful for the Book of Mormon and the testimony of the Savior that is contained in its pages. faith - how is it that one could have enough faith that the trees, mountains or sea would listen to us? that is beyond my understanding. faith is something that i work on everyday as i'm sure many people do. some days i KNOW i have more faith than others and somedays i struggle. but, 4:7, we are given weakness (which is mortality) so that we learn to rely on the lord for help and strength. it is through him that our mortality is compensated. - mom
