there is a talk given by Michael Wilcox titled, "King Noah Blindness". in this weeks reading in verse 6 nephi talks about the scales of darkness falling from [our] eyes. the people in king noahs time were blinded for a time until the scales fell from their eyes and they, too, saw the truth. i think at times we are all blind. what a blessing it is when the scales fall from our eyes and our testimony's strenghtened as we see the power of the lord's hand in our lives. the other thing i was reminded of as i read this time, was the importance of "feasting" on the words of christ, not just nibbling. i find that when i really take the time to study i am so filled with happiness and joy. the scriptures mean so much to me and i find that live a better life (or at least try harder) than before. 33:11 one day we will all have the opportunity to stand before that great prophet nephi. it is a hard thing for me to visualize myself standing before Nephi. i think he might ask if i took the time to read what he wrote for me in the book of mormon. i think that i might have to make an accounting to him of some of my time. i really want to be able to say that yes, i did read, and not only did i read, but i feasted on his words, took them to heart and that what he said changed my life for the better. jacob. i am so grateful for the good example of peter as a husband and a father. when i read vs 35 of jacob i think of all those who have had their hearts broken because of fathers who dissapoint... i am so grateful that our family is not one of them. - mom
